World – class beach volleyball competition and event that is the largest of its kind in Asia with participants from all over the world. This event is part of the SWATCH FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour that accumulates points for world ranking. It is also an event for the selection of Olympic players.
The Phuket Thailand Open powered by PTT, last stop on the 2010 Swatch FIVB Women’s Beach Volleyball World Tour will be back at Karon beach, Phuket the tournament which offers prize money of US$190,000 draws more than 70 of the world’s best women beach volleyball players from over 30 counties including the current world championships and reigning Olympic champions. In addition there are supporting ameture tournaments at both international and local level as well as sponsor village featuring an expensive range of sale outlets and fun activities. Matches take place thoughout the day, admission to the tournament is free.
